Ourika valley to Agafay Desert adventure

You’ll start your day by leaving your accommodation at 9 am in the morning, heading towards the Ourika Valley. The valley is located approximately 1 hour away from Marrakech, making it a convenient day trip destination.

Scenic Drive: Enjoy the scenic drive as you leave the city behind and venture into the picturesque landscapes of the Atlas Mountains. The journey itself is quite beautiful, with stunning views of the mountains, traditional Berber villages, and terraced fields.

In the way to Ourika Valley, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a traditional Berber house. Experience the warm hospitality of the Berber people as they welcome you into their home. Enjoy a small Berber breakfast, which typically includes Moroccan tea, freshly baked bread, olives, honey, and other local delicacies.

Once you arrive to Ourika you meet your local guide who will accompany you throughout the day. The guide will lead you on a tour of the surrounding area, explaining the local culture, traditions, and the unique way of life in the Atlas Mountains. You’ll have the chance to interact with the locals and learn about their customs.

Hiking and Nature: Ourika Valley is known for its natural beauty and scenic trails. If you’re interested, you can embark on a moderate hike, guided by your local expert. Explore the lush green landscapes, terraced fields, and enjoy the refreshing mountain air. The guide will customize the hike based on your preferences and fitness level.

After the morning activities, take a break and savor a delicious lunch by the river. You’ll have the chance to relax, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and taste traditional Moroccan cuisine. Popular dishes in the region include tagines, couscous, grilled meats, and fresh salads.

Following lunch, you’ll have some free time to further explore the area at your own pace. You can take a leisurely stroll, relax by the river, or immerse yourself in the local culture. Don’t forget to capture some beautiful photographs to remember your time in Ourika Valley.

Once you finish in Ourika you will continue by car to Agafay desert.

Once you arrive, you will then hop on your quad bike and start your ride through the desert. The quad bike ride will take you through rugged terrain, over sand dunes, and past ancient villages. You will also have the opportunity to stop and take pictures of the stunning scenery.

After the quad bike ride, you can experience a traditional camel ride in the Agafay Desert, where you’ll ride through the beautiful landscape and take in the stunning views. The experience is usually accompanied by a guide who will take you through the desert.

Watching the sunset in the Agafay Desert is a breathtaking experience. As the sun sets, the sky turns into a beautiful canvas of oranges, reds, and yellows. You can enjoy this view from a vantage point or during your camel ride.
