Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou - Zagora

  • Your unforgettable journey begins early in the morning as we pick you up from your accommodation (whether a Riad, hotel, or any other location in Marrakech) at 7:00 AM.  As we journey through the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2,260m), you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Atlas Mountains, with stops at panoramic viewpoints and Berber villages along the way.
  • A highlight of the journey awaits as we approach Aït Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most famous and well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This stunning kasbah, dating back to the 11th century, has been featured in many Hollywood movies and TV series, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. You will have time to explore the ancient kasbah on your own, wandering through its narrow alleyways and admiring the traditional earthen architecture.
  • From there, we travel through the breathtaking Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s longest palm grove, before reaching Zagora. As we arrive in Zagora, the gateway to the Sahara, a truly magical experience awaits: a camel trek through the golden dunes. Mounted on your camel, you will embark on a peaceful ride through the vast desert, watching as the landscape transforms with the fading light of the day. After approximately one hours of camel trekking, you will reach your desert camp, just in time to witness a breathtaking sunset over the dunes.
  • The evening is spent at a traditional Berber camp, where you will enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner under the stars, surrounded by the warmth of a crackling campfire. Local nomads will entertain you with traditional Berber music, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The clear desert sky offers a spectacular view of the Milky Way, making this an extraordinary night to remember.
  • You will spend the night in a comfortable bivouac, experiencing the authentic nomadic lifestyle in the heart of the desert.

Day 2Zagora - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

  • Wake up early to witness an unforgettable sunrise over the dunes before enjoying a traditional Berber breakfast. Afterward, ride your camel back to Zagora, where your driver awaits.
  • The return journey takes you once again through the scenic Draa Valley, with stops for photos and exploration. We pass through Ouarzazate, where you may visit the Taourirt Kasbah or simply enjoy the stunning landscapes.
  • As we cross the Atlas Mountains, we make several stops to admire the breathtaking views before reaching Marrakech in the late afternoon, marking the end of an incredible 2-day desert experience.
